A very late Christmas picture of Gabby here. I am just so far behind this year. Very sorry about that.

I've had this nasty virus since the beginning of December and am finally better. None of the meds I got worked at all, and they included antibiotics and steroids. Figures, give it enough time and it will go away by itself. Where did I hear that before I wonder?

Anyhow, its back to English on my blog for now.

to all of my relatives and friends here and in Europe. It's Easter and still cold in Virginia -- and I want it to be warm so I can get outside. I have new pictures to show and today, I finished a special cupcake. Is this cute or what?

Naturally, no holiday without my little sunshine. Here she is finding easter eggs. I should think she does pretty good. And she likes her new Easter dress.

It's getting warmer outside and I am busier than ever. So much yarn, so many patterns and so little time, it's pathetic. Yesterday I became a member in a group for modular or mitred squares in Europe. I have so many plans for this year.
Talking about plans, I am making plans for vacation too. We will be in Kansas City in June for Gabby's 3rd birthday.

Well I have to get ready to leave. Hope to find time to be back here later on and post some newer pictures.

Wow, this year is just flying and it's time I post a bit today. Comparing to the 70 degree weather we had a week ago one could say, that winter is back. It is raining and cold and windy and I don't want to leave the house today. I participated in a Newbie Swap and received a very pretty package from my partner today. That made my day.
I've been knitting up a storm since January and completed my Danish Shawl and am halfway done with my Lady Jane. I also finished a ton of washcloth, some hats, and started a mitred square lapghan. The picture shows Gabby at Chucky Cheese's. Seems her favorite place right now.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!

Here's Gabby enjoying the snow. She would have missed that snow storm in Virginia and not been able to make her first snow angels.

This year I will try to be more active here. I am starting the year knitting on 2 shawls: 1 is a Danish Shawl that is tied in the back, and the 2nd is the Christmas Surprise shawl from Klabauter in Germany. On top of that I managed to finish knitting a scarf for my husband, and a few more dishcloth since Christmas. I knit the "Terracotta" colored afghan for Gabi in Germany during the month of November; the pattern was "Corner to corner".

This has been a very busy year so far. My sister and brother in law came to visit from Germany this year.
We went to see them at my niece's house in New Jersey for my brother in law's birthday party, and they came to stay with us for a couple of days on my sister's birthday. Here are a few pictures.
And of course I had to add my little granddaughter Gabby on Halloween.

Still have to add another entry and post all of my knitting accomplishments. Hopefully very soon ...

It Mothersday today and I managed to get back on here. Google has made some changes and I could not find my blog for a while. Wow. I finally managed to take more pictures and upload them into the computer. Will have to get them posted soon because we are scheduled to move next month and I know that I will be busy for a while. The blue dishcloth has a little teddybaer. The second dishcloth is the Ballband one from the Mason Dixon book.

Gabby is walking between all the moving boxes now. 9 months old and getting around!
I'm very proud of her!
How about that. I'm learning new things about myself. Time to post again for a change. I have been sooo busy making dishclothes, and contributing to squares for a wedding gift. Definitely will post pictures. I also started to knit a dustbunny. Hope to get it done today.
Other than that I went an on short trip to Europe. And, yes, I got to see my son Mike, my grandson, my mom, and my sister and her family. It was very short but better than not being able to go at all. I also got to see some of Paris, Paris, France that is.
I got my reservations to go to Kansas City and throw a pink Care Bear Party for Gabriella's 1st Birthday. Hard to believe, isn't it? One year old she will be already.
Catie participated in the pinewood derby and a sleepover from the scouts. We are very proud of her accomplishments too.

I got busy this weekend. Finished the first pair of socks for myself. I also finished a few other items including my first four Mason-Dixon Squares - maybe for a blanket or a pillow - not sure yet. Well here we go. I finished and uploaded my first two items for 2007. Yesterdays Coffee Mug Doily and today my granddaughter's pillow.

Tomorrow, I have to go back to work. I have started a list with all the yarn I have used and will continue it to the end of this year.

A Happy and Healthy New Year 2007, or Alles Gute im Neuen Jahr to all of my family, friends and my Knitting and Crochetfriends here as well as in Germany.
Today is January 1st, 2007 and I promised myself to make a lot of entries this year. I will also drastically reduce my yarnstash this year and not buy any new supplies unless I need it to complete a started project.

My granddaughter's picture was taken 2 weeks ago during our visit in K.C.

For today's project, I am knitting a pillow cover for the baby from Baby Clouds using size 11 needles. I have to say that I am too spoiled with smooth and straight yarn and will most likely not use this type of yarn very often. I also crochet a
coaster for my coffee mug earlier and will upload pictures for both as soon as I finish the back of the pillow cover.

Finally have a few minutes to write. Went to Kansas City on Monday and returned on Wednesday. I would have loved to just stay there forever, or bring the baby back with me. Look at her - she will be 4 weeks old on Tuesday. She is such a cutie and a very good baby.

Sadly, Lisa - my DIL - got very sick on the fourth and has to have her gallbladder removed soon. I hope, she feels a lot better afterwards. She was in really bad shape last week.

I finished my first bag today and took a picture, but did not have time to upload it yet.
It will surely be there next time. I also finished one sock last Sunday and have to upload that picture. Nothing else is new here. I am very busy with all my small projects and will keep on posting as time permits.

Today little Gabriella is 2 weeks old already. Hard to believe. Of course I have more pictures and I will go to K.C. from Monday to Wednesday next week. I'm so excited. I have crocheted up a storm lately too but still have to upload pictures.

It has been raining for 3 - 4 days now here and I am very tired of the rain. Hope summer comes back now.

On Tuesday, June 13th at 6:56 p.m. our granddaughter, Gabriella Marie, arrived. She weighed 7 lbs and was 18 3/4" long. John and I are more excited than the kids I think. I will start posting pictures today!

Good Morning, finally I have a little time to continue here. I am adding a couple pictures of the baby shower for my DIL Lisa. Baby is due on the 16th of June and we are all so excited. I finished a few more crochet items and have to add lots more pictures of those also. Monday is my husbands birthday and we will also be celebrating our 33rd Anniversary. Life is definitely getting a little easier I hope.

Hello and Happy Easter to everybody,

I'm finally back on. Sorry that I have to be so busy all of the time. Today, I needed to come here to show off my new acomplishments. The first one is a pillowghan that I crocheted for my friend Shannon's wedding shower.

Today I finished a blanket in lion colors for Catie - I will be sending it ahead to Kansas City. That's where I will be next weekend for the baby shower. I am so ready to go this time.

Have to go an get some more work done. Hopefully, I will be back very soon.

Sorry I haven't been able to post for a while again but have been very busy crocheting for my future grandbaby. It's gonna be a girl and we are all so excited. Her name will probably be: Gabriella Marie. I think it's beautiful. So far I made 2 blankets for her, some baby booties and I am working on a bib. I crocheted the large pink blanket for my niece. She had a baby girl on Valentines Day. The other two I made for the grand baby already.

The next project I can't show yet. You'll find out why next time I post.

I can't believe that it takes me so long to get back on here. Today, I am going to a Craftshow and my sister in law and I share a table for our craft items. Before I (hopefully) sell out I did take pictures and want to display them here. Actually, my first picture shows the 'Coming Home' poncho I made this year.

I am feeling very bad about not posting for so long but have been very busy at work and at home.

John had to have Carpal Tunnel surgery and is still recovering. He has not much use in his left hand yet because he has to wear a brace.

Good newsare that our youngest son Mark and his wife Lisa are expecting a baby in June 2006. We are all very excited and wish them the best.

Found a new "multi directional knitting" group on the web last week and just had to join. Yesterday, I had to try this fairly new technique and am showing how far I got yesterday. I don't want to say too much about it because it is a surprise present for someone. I have also attached a picture of my niece Andrea and her husband Brant, who came to visit us a couple of weeks ago.

No, I am not giving up just yet. I was very busy last weekend doing craft work (crochet a few more Halloween squares) and getting ready for a yardsale this weekend.
A friend asked me about family pictures last week and I found some that I want to post. Here comes the first one.

I'm back. Due to lots of different computer problems, I ended up buying a new one Saturday. Today, I finally got a chance to set it up and here I am.

However, I did manage to do some crochet work over the weekened -- and I am attaching pictures.

Did my first Halloween square for next month, another little purse and finished my doily.

I received a package from my Mother and Sister today and even got more yarn from Germany. Then I received another pastel colored square that actually was a bit overdue - but that's ok.

Had doctor's appointments this morning and got to stay home, otherwise I would still be out of a computer. But I still have to upload more software tonight. So I better get going. Will try to get more news in this weekend.

Made is back from breakfast - ues, we went out. Washed and dried my cork screw scarf and it did not shrink or ge felted. Here is a picture I just took of it.

On my doily, which I started yesterday, I advancec to round 17. I took a picture of that also and posted it next to the scarf. I believe that when I am done with 32 rounds it will fit my coffee table in the living room. I'll take another picture when I get it done.

I'll have to start getting things ready for work tomorrow. Be back next weekend.

It's Saturday, August 13th and I do want to keep in touch with you all so I'd better keep working on this a bit. Our son Mark and his wife Lisa went on a short vacation today for their 1st wedding anniversary. It was storming and pouring all the way to St. Louis and when they arrived there tonight, the hotel had no power. I hope it comes back quick. Will have to post a picture of the both of them when they get back home next week.

I went shopping today and picked up some black and orange yarn for halloween squares. Can't believe how fast this year is going by again. I also started a doily in a cappuccino color. Made it all the way to round 10 so far. Will post a current picture tomorrow afternoon.

My niece Andrea and her husband Brant drove down to Disney World Thursday and they are staying until next week Sunday. We still would like to go to Colonial Williamsburg this year. Maybe after Labor Day, I hope.

That's all the excitement for this week. It's still very hot and humid here.

It's Monday again and I had a long day at work but finally made it home. We had a little rain today and it seemed that the temperatures had cooled down some but the humidity is worse than ever. So my puppy and I are staying inside. I was reminded by my friend Hannelore yesterday that I did not post a picture of the puppy so I will take care of that today. Here she is in all her beauty. Shelby will be 2 years old on September 30, 2005. She's actually Daddy's girl but I'm allowed here too. lol

Started to make a curly scarf for a present yesterday but I won't take a picture until its done.
I am working on the last row, which has very very many stitches.

Hello all, for those who don't know me, first a little bit about myself. I'm 53 years young and have been married for 32 years to John. In addition to John's 3 daughters, I have a 35 year old son in Germany and we have a 30 year old son in Kansas City. By now we have a lot of grandchildren and as far as we know 4 great grandchildren.
I work full time as an office manager and really like my job. However, it is located in Washington, DC and I have quite a long commute.

My favorite past time is to crochet. So I will be writing a lot of my new projects.

For today I think that's enough about me.
